When I founded Edify, it was not because I had all the answers about education. It was because I was, and still am, endlessly fascinated by the questions.
How do teenagers really think? What drives one student to light up about a subject while another struggles with it? Why does one thrive under pressure while another needs a completely different approach? Those questions captivated me at the start, and they still drive our work today.
Over the years we have learned that the real breakthroughs happen when you get curious about each student as a whole person. We do not just look at grades or test scores. We ask what makes them laugh, what keeps them up at night, what they would change about the world if they could. That is where the real work begins.
But here is what I believe most strongly: students do not exist in isolation. Behind every teenager is a family navigating this journey too. Parents often tell us they feel like they are watching their child through frosted glass. They can see the outline, but the details feel unclear. That gap is where we come in.
This conviction is the reason I wrote my book, Before the Letter Arrives: A Counselor’s Case For Seeing Your Child Clearly. It is my fullest attempt to give parents an honest framework for closing that gap, and to make the case that the most important work of these years is not optimizing an application. It is seeing your child clearly before the pressure arrives.
Our approach is not based on gut feelings or one size fits all formulas. We blend objective data with subjective insight, drawing from psychology, research, and years of hands-on experience to honor both the science of learning and the art of human connection.
Wherever a student starts, we meet them exactly where they are. Our counseling is built around three pillars: their current growth trajectory, their genuine interests, and their readiness for college level challenges. Every student has potential waiting to be unlocked, and our job is to create the conditions for it to flourish.
What makes Edify different is our team to one model. Instead of a single counselor trying to be everything to everyone, your student benefits from our collective expertise: academic planning, personal development, college strategy, and everything in between. It is mentorship by design, not by chance.
Ultimately, we are not just helping students get into college. We are helping them discover who they are, what they care about, and how they want to contribute to the world. Because when students feel truly understood, they do not just succeed. They soar.
We can do better together, and I am honored to be part of your family’s journey.

From first-choice acceptances to unexpected perfect fits – hear how our students found their way to the schools where they truly belong
After my first meeting with Peter, I was very hesitant to begin working with him. Why should I need counseling for my life when none of my other friends did? However, my parents were insistent on going back for a second meeting, a decision I am more than grateful for in retrospect. I went to counseling with Peter a second time, and a third…

Under Peter’s guidance, I successfully received offers from 8 universities and, with Peter’s guidance, chose Boston University. Having such results really exceeded my original expectations. My GPA wasn’t actually very high, and when I started applying, I was full of confusion and nervousness. Hi Peter! Do you remember the first time we met each other about 2 years ago? I was not even comfortable speaking English and didn’t know what was happening in my life.
