Program Overview

Personalized academic instruction, not a one-size-fits-all approach

Edify has been providing individualized education since 1987. Whether your student needs to accelerate, recover a grade, supplement their school schedule, or take courses for credit, Edify connects you with Edify’s expert faculty and flexible program structure.

For-Credit Courses

UC-approved A-G courses that transfer to your school of record or college. Available at standard, Honors, and AP levels.

Mastery-Based Learning

No minimum hour requirements. Students complete courses when they demonstrate mastery — at their own pace.

1-on-1 Instruction

Career educators with 8+ years average tenure teach every session. Small group options available at a reduced rate.

Flexible Scheduling

Enroll any time of year. Sessions scheduled 1-3x per week around your student's existing commitments.

How Edify tuition works:

Tuition is based on actual instructional hours, not flat per-course rates. A base semester fee covers a set amount of instruction; additional hourly rates apply only if more time is needed. Because of the mastery-learning model, students who grasp material quickly often spend fewer hours — and pay less — than traditional schools. Contact Edify for a personalized estimate based on your student’s courses and pace.

Two ways to work with Edify

Whether your student needs credits that count toward graduation or targeted subject support, Edify has a format that fits.

History / Social Science

Two units (equivalent to two years) of history/social science required, including: one year of world history, cultures or historical geography and one year of U.S. history; or one-half year of U.S. history and one-half year of civics or American government.

English

Four units (equivalent to four years) of college preparatory English composition and literature required, integrating extensive reading, frequent writing, and practice listening and speaking with different audiences. Students may only use 1 year of ESL/ELD English.

Mathematics

Three units (equivalent to three years) of college-preparatory mathematics (four units are strongly recommended), including or integrating topics covered in elementary algebra, advanced algebra, and two-and three-dimensional geometry.

Science

Two units (equivalent to two years) of science are required (three units are strongly recommended), providing fundamental knowledge in two of the following: biology, chemistry, or physics. A yearlong interdisciplinary or earth and space science course can meet one year of this requirement.

Science (D) courses listed under the engineering, computer science and applied science disciplines can only be used to fulfill the recommended third year of science (D).

Language Other than English

Two units (equivalent to two years, or through the second level of high school instruction) of the same language other than English (three units recommended). LOTE levels are defined by the number of years of high school instruction; e.g. LOTE 1 = 1 yr.; LOTE 2 = 2 years, etc.

Visual & Performing Arts

One unit (equivalent to one year) required, chosen from one of the following categories: dance, music, theater, interdisciplinary arts, or visual arts (e.g., painting, web/graphic design, film/video, inter/multimedia arts). Two one-semester courses from the same discipline is also acceptable.

College-Preparatory Elective

One unit (equivalent to one year) chosen from the “a–f” courses beyond those used to satisfy the requirements of the “a–f” subjects, or courses that have been approved solely in the elective area.

Why It Works

The power of 1-on-1 education

Most schools teach to the middle — Edify teaches to the individual. Every session is adapted to where your student actually is, not where the class is supposed to be.

Edify students benefit from integrated support: your Edify counselor helps align Edify coursework with your overall academic strategy, ensuring course selection, pacing, and timing all work toward your college goals.

Common questions

Will Edify credits transfer to my student's main school?
We provide a fully comprehensive, hands-on approach with unlimited communication available. However, for students who may benefit from additional support and guidance—particularly those who tend to be more passive in their engagement—we ensure regular check-ins at least bimonthly to monitor progress on their deliverables and maintain accountability.
We maintain strict enrollment limits for each grade level to ensure quality service. While priorities and deliverables vary across different grade levels, we make every effort to ensure all goals are met for each student. When we reach full capacity, we create a waitlist to manage future admissions.
Payment is required in full upfront. Refunds are not available after the third meeting, though we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise. We evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis when extenuating circumstances exist.
All services are provided in-house to ensure consistently high-quality output. We do not subcontract any of our services to external providers.
We established our company in 2018 and have served hundreds of families throughout Silicon Valley. The majority of our clients are technology industry professionals who attended university outside the United States and seek guidance from experts familiar with the U.S. education system to help their children achieve their academic goals.
We offer comprehensive consulting services starting from freshman year through senior year of high school, providing age-appropriate guidance and support throughout the entire high school journey.
